Now this is an actual video game. Shattered Dimension doesn't treat the player like an idiot with endless flashing lights or energy limits. It drops you into a hostile system, hands you a basic set of tools, and demands absolute tactical precision. The combat system handles positioning incredibly well; moving your hero back a single node to dodge a sweeping boss attack while queueing up a counter-strike feels genuinely strategic. It forces you to weigh short-term survival against long-term deck efficiency.
That said, it doesn’t completely escape the shadows of its inspirations. If you've spent any serious time with Slay the Spire or Darkest Dungeon, you’ll immediately spot the recycled archetypes and structural templates used here. The dark fantasy visual style is technically clean but lacks a distinct artistic voice, running into a muddy gray-and-purple blur after a few hours of diving. The difficulty curve can also rely on raw RNG tile layouts that can kill a perfect run through no real fault of your own. It's a stiff, unforgiving challenge that works well, but it stops short of true greatness.
