Roll is a surprisingly addictive high-score chaser that strips away all the modern mobile gaming fluff to focus on a singular, satisfying mechanic. At its heart, it's a game about probability and momentum. You roll dice to gain points, and as you progress, you use those points to purchase upgrades that fundamentally change the 'physics' of your luck. It feels like a mix between a traditional tabletop dice game and a modern clicker/idle game, though it requires much more active participation than the latter.

The beauty of Roll lies in its progression curve. Initially, you're just hoping for a decent number, but soon you're manipulating multipliers, adding extra dice, and triggering massive chain reactions that fill the screen with numbers. The haptic feedback on iPhone is tuned perfectly—every roll feels tactile and weighty. While it lacks a complex narrative, the sheer 'one more go' factor is immense. It's a perfect 'bus stop' game that manages to feel both relaxing and intellectually stimulating as you calculate the best upgrade paths to maximize your score floor.

I can respect a game that doesn't try to be everything to everyone. Roll is minimalist to its core. The gameplay is strictly about the mechanics of the dice, and it avoids the flashy, over-the-top nonsense that plagues other mobile games. It’s honest. However, that honesty reveals how little there is actually here. Once you understand the core probability, the game stops evolving.

It’s a fine way to engage the brain for a few minutes, but it lacks the 'one more turn' factor that defines great puzzle games. The sound design is nearly non-existent, and while the visuals are clean, they’re also incredibly sterile. It feels more like a prototype for a better game than a finished experience. It's okay, but 'okay' doesn't get a high score from me.
