Now this is how you do a mobile game. Zombie Highway 2 doesn't try to reinvent the wheel—it just puts spikes on it and paints it black. The loop of steering into debris to scrape off a latching zombie while simultaneously aiming your sidearm is one of the few 'mobile' mechanics that feels genuinely skillful. It’s tense, it’s crunchy, and it actually rewards spatial awareness. For someone who usually scoffs at 'endless' games, the inclusion of objectives and weapon upgrades gives me enough of a 'checklist' to keep me coming back.
The visual upgrade from the first game is significant. The cars have weight, the zombies feel like a physical threat rather than just icons, and the environments are surprisingly detailed for the speed at which you’re traveling. It still suffers from the 'endless runner' fatigue eventually, but the daily challenges and weapon variety push that wall back much further than its competitors. It’s a rare mobile win for me.
