Internet thought experiments rarely translate well into playable video games, but The Immortal Snail manages to pull off a surprisingly clever survival concept. At forty years old, I appreciate originality over another generic asset flip. The constant psychological pressure of managing your life while knowing an invincible, relentless mollusk is slowly crawling toward you creates a unique atmosphere.

While the core mechanic is somewhat one-note and won't sustain hundreds of hours of gameplay, the dark humor and smart execution make it a refreshing indie title that respects the player's intelligence. Well worth a look for fans of clever indie concepts.
