★★★★★ Easily The Best Match 3 Game In The App Store

I have found through experience that the match 3 games that have in-app purchases have a rigged algorithm where the game, regardless of your moves, leads you to a point where you almost win the level and then offers you more chances if you make a purchase. This game you pay up front and there are NO in-app purchases. As such the game is entirely fair. If you play well you win. If you don’t, you lose. The gameplay is a simple straightforward match 3. As you play along you get power ups for advancing and reaching goals and you can change the themes of the tiles. There are no ridiculous side puzzles, growing a garden, or purchasing farm animals. The graphics are satisfying without being overwhelming. Don’t mistake “simple” for “easy”. I am up to level 65 and finding it VERY challenging. Works well on an iMac with trackpad or iPad. Easily worth what you pay for it. Thank you Mulberry Tree Games for a fair, fun, addictive match 3 game. Outstanding!!

Wow this game is phenomenal! i prefer this over its contemporaries because rather than drip feeding you unlockables and forcing you to grind this game has a satisfying gameplay loop of rewarding you with plenty of new tiles as you complete simple objectives. i’m only 13 levels in and i already have a plethora of tiles to choose from! AND the art direction is adorable! i am very curious if the developer designed these herself! I love the gradual incorporation of new mechanics as you progress through each level, it keeps things fresh and challenging. the music is lovely too and there are separate toggles for SFX and music! my only criticism is i wish there was a greater variety of rainbow tiles and power ups on the actual board, maybe additional effects could occur when you combine rainbow tiles together rather then them chaining together? regardless, this app is brilliant and completely worth the $2! thank you for your hard work!!

I received a developer response but don’t see it here. The response said they tried for a balance of difficulty. I understand and appreciate the response. But the description says a relaxed game. I didn’t find it relaxing. I find my self saying way too much, I hope I never have to play that level again. Just not my cup of tea. I’ll keep looking for a less serious distraction. —— Sorry I had to change my rating. There is the blue smoke/black bar feature that came up. A lot of match 3 use this. No other app makes the smoke grow at every patch occurrence when one block isn’t knocked out. So you have to use all your power ups to try to clear the smoke. You lose one square for every patch, even of you clear one, you have to gain more smoke. It’s not fun like this. —— We are all tired of the match 3 games that have limited play or difficult levels that require watching an ad, paying for power ups, or slogging through onerous story lines that we don’t want to see. Sometimes we want an easy distraction and this is perfect. it’s an idea that is very welcome.

This is by far my favorite match 3 game on iOS and it’s in the top 3 across all the similar games I’ve played across all platforms. The levels are interesting and challenging without being unfair, the power-ups are interesting and, while not unique to this game, add a fun element of strategy to play. The daily levels are also usually both fun and challenging. The endless “zen mode” is also a good option for unstructured gameplay. The one IAP adds a few hundred extra levels and a few new mechanics, along with a second “gold” daily level. I found the cost of both the game and IAP to be well worth the dozens of hours I’ve played. I hope the dev keeps offering occasional similar DLCs—I’ll be sure to pick them up if so. One feature I’d like is a procedurally generated mode like zen mode but with actual objectives like the main levels.

I have downloaded a lot of games. I always want to find that cozy unwinding game for the end of my day. I loved the aesthetics of this game the second I saw it! It’s not super flashy with things zapping, blasting and exploding in your face every two seconds. It’s just a simple match game along the lines of any of the plethora of them but it does it simple and cuter way. The option of paying for no ads is awesome and well worth it. Winning the gift boxes to customize tiles appeals to the collector in me and is a fun twist. It’s easy enough that you can breeze through a couple levels and then get humbled really quick when a new obstacle is introduced. Even though it’s not flashy, you can tell so much thought and care went into making it. It’s a perfect cozy little puzzle game and it will be my night time game for a loooooong time now!

I look forward each day to playing this game… I have completed all the challenges/achievements, including earning 3 stars on 300 levels. I am hoping there are new levels soon. I have many power-ups stored up for future play. Only “new” level I can play now is the Daily Level. And now, the counter on my daily level is stuck at 76 out of 90 daily levels. Can that be fixed? This game is such a refreshing change from what so many other developers have out there with ad bombardments, rigging games to force purchases to advance, etc. This game brings back the “patience and perseverance” aspect of playing a game. Some levels, I have restarted over and over, but in the end, it’s cleared, and that gives the feeling of achievement. Thank you for this Simple Match 3 game!

The pricetag of $2 is well worth-it. I have many hours in this game. There are no ads. The gameplay is fun and polished. The programming seems to be very well-done: I have never encountered a game-breaking bug. The icons on the tiles that you match can be freely customized from a huge batch of icons. Unlocking the icons by playing is a fun challenge. The Gold levels and mechanics are also worth $2, although I briefly had trouble redeeming my purchase of the Gold Edition (this has since been resolved, and I am enjoying Gold). The music, sound effects, and haptic feedback are all pleasant and calming. When I play this game, I do not feel anxious in the way that other free games in this genre make me feel anxious. If you enjoy Bejeweled, Tetris, or similar games, then you will enjoy Simple Match 3.
