This is what mobile gaming should be. It’s not trying to be a console game, and it’s not trying to trick you into buying 'gems.' It’s just a hard-as-nails test of your reflexes. I remember games like this on the Atari or early arcade cabinets where the only thing that mattered was your high score and your ability to keep up with the rhythm.
O-VOID is frustrating, yes, but it’s the good kind of frustration. The kind that makes you say 'one more try' until it’s 2 AM. The minimalist aesthetic works perfectly because it doesn't distract from the mechanics. My only real gripe is that it’s a bit lean on content. You’ll see most of what it has to offer quickly, even if it takes you forever to actually beat it.
