88/100

Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is a terrifying departure for the series, moving the horror from a security office to a child's bedroom. This shift makes the experience feel much more personal and vulnerable. The removal of the camera system forces you to rely almost entirely on sound, which creates an unbearable level of tension. Every creak and breath could be your last.

The game is incredibly atmospheric, and the 'Nightmare' versions of the classic animatronics are genuinely disturbing. The lore revealed through the 8-bit minigames is tragic and deepens the mystery of the series. It’s a masterclass in audio-based horror that will keep you on the edge of your seat (or hiding under your covers). It's easily one of the most stressful games in the franchise.

Dinsun Review

I’ll be honest, the FNAF phenomenon usually passes me by. I find the lore convoluted and the 'fandom' exhausting. But FNAF 4 is a decent piece of horror design. Moving the setting from a pizza joint to a child's bedroom makes the threat feel much more personal and visceral. The reliance on audio is a bold choice; you have to turn your volume up and listen for the tiniest breath. It’s genuinely nerve-wracking.

However, my old-school sensibilities hate the 'game over' state. Dying isn't a failure of strategy so much as it is a punishment for not hearing a faint sound file. And the jump scares? They're cheap. After the third time a loud robot screams in your face, it’s not scary anymoreβ€”it’s just annoying. It’s a game of red-light-green-light with a scream at the end. Well-made for what it is, but it’s a one-trick pony.

- Fixed the display of the Freddles

- Minor fixes and improvements

NOTE: Remastered version from the PC version. A device with at least 2 GB of RAM is required for this game to run properly.

In this last chapter of the Five Nights at Freddy's original story, you must once again defend yourself against Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and even worse things that lurk in the shadows. Playing as a child whose role is yet unknown, you must safeguard yourself until 6am by watching the doors, as well as warding off unwanted creatures that may venture into your closet or onto the bed behind you.

You have only a flashlight to protect yourself. It will scare away things that may be creeping at the far end of the hallways, but be careful, and listen. If something has crept too close, then shining lights in its eyes will be your end.

NOTE: Interface and audio in English. Subtitles in English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish (Latin America), Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Korean.
