★★★★★ Love it, but…
Wed Feb 04 2026 tired midnight gamerFirst, the game is generally awesome. The ai gives plenty of narrative freedom and the quests are fun. The descriptions have an AI tang, but nothing unbearable. I'm currently having fun playing as an elven princess on the run because she is the hated illigitamte daughter of the elf king and her sibling want her gone. Good stuff.. However, it is a bit buggy. After dice rolls, I have to restart my app just to move on. Also, as an accessibility matter, I like that the text can be screen read, but I’d be mindful of other settings that might be added to adjust the game okay for those with disabilities. Like, some of the buttons are hard to see. Maybe a tutorial would be nice? I didn't realize I could see my characters stats till waaaaay late.
Additionally, my game currently won’t load up? Like the app keeps restarting on its own.
Also, I think I killed my first character, but I couldn’t tell because my game stalled on the dice rolls. Maybe make that clearer since I ended up having to dekete my character and start over from scratch which wasn’t fun.
Lastly, i hate to complain about price bc I know game makers are already underpaid, but to play free, are you seriously telling me I have to wait a month just for more messages without buying them? Come one, now. A day or hours I get but dang, bro. 😅
Could y'all please fix the bugs so I can get back to playing this lovely game? It's been a few days now.
★★★★★ One Major problem (in my opinion)
Fri Apr 24 2026 Everweave FanDevs: It’s a fantastic game. There’s one reason I’m rating it four stars, and it has to do with the new update(15). I understand you all put a lot of work into this update. However, my friend and I find the new conversation system confusing and hard to follow (where it takes you to the screen with the statue character icon and changes depending on which NPC is speaking). We like the idea of the new character engine (they remember you and treat you according to your previous actions, etc.), but would prefer it if the conversation system went back to the old way (where the conversations just go along with the rest of your actions and the speaker is DM. It seemed to flow more seamlessly that way. I understand if you leave it this way if other players like it better the new way, but to us it is…frustrating. Also, (minor) issue. I like the new trade (merchants) system, but (and I may just not know how to do it), in the trade screen, I can’t see what an item does before I buy it. I can definitely overlook this, but it would be nice to see what something does (or at least read its description) before I spend my silver on it. Last thing. My friend and I would like an additional mage class along with the warlock (my friend suggested wizard). Please. Thank you for your time, and great work.
★★★★★ Update 15
Fri Apr 24 2026 faycaymay36To be honest before the update I really enjoy this app but after this update there have been some bugs in the system and I really don’t know how to convey them so I’ll write this with the update they gave npc more memory which I think is good since I would have to constantly remind them in the past to remember stuff but there is major delay and outright forgetting inputs from the “conversations” window that pops up and the normal screen that was there before the update also in the conversation window I feel like my words aren’t really being said to the character as it goes through a filter and changes some of the words I truly want to say to the npc but that’s just nitpicking but if the dev team can fix the how the npc sees the main story window. For example like when the npc left the one conversation and went back into the banquet I went back into the main conversation tab was was original before the update and then a few inputs later the banquet had finished and I met with the npc again and they had forgotten that they went into the banquet from the other conversation and got mad at me for going into the banquet instead of stalking and when I tried to clarify that to game it just interrupted it as apologizing to the npc which makes no sense if they can fix the narrative sync the app will be a 4.5 out of 5 but this issue is just turning me off from the app please take note of this I’m sure I’m not the only one with this issue.
★★★★★ New update
Thu Apr 23 2026 Jas TianaI love this game, but have to speak on the new update. While im excited to try out the companion and note taking features, i absolutely despise the conversation mode. I like the old format and how i could just type the conversation (including physical movements and inner thoughts that inspired what was said) but now it’s very hard to include multiple characters in the conversation because everything i write is only labeled under my character’s name and the inner monologue motivations and physical quirks i write are left out completely. Also in conversation mode, i cant scroll up to past story points to help me remember exactly what i want my character to say, plus the dm used to help me write some of the dialogue as long as i just gave them an emotional prompt but now it just counts the prompts as silence on my character’s part and messes up the storyline. The conversation mode is very frustrating and uses a lot more of my messages than it used to when I would write the entire conversation myself. Please, fix this because now the ‘conversation mode’ uses messages like the combat encounter mode and eats through my messages faster than ever, while not keeping track of everything i wrote so i get confused
★★★★★ Good but with problems
Mon Mar 16 2026 artfoundryOverall it's fun with good responses from the DM (and as best I can tell, it's amazing that it follows the D&D 5e ruleset!), but there are some major issues. Aside from half of the classes and at least one race (half-elf) missing, it sometimes takes a long time for anything to happen after submitting a command (and close button for the dice roll window always takes too long to appear), and a few times it froze (more specifically, the close button on the dice roll window never appeared) or failed (got a non-specific error saying to try again). Once the DM gave an incorrect description, saying I was attempting to sneak past a door in a room in order to return down a descending passage, but I was already hiding in the descending passage. Also, why is there the chat bubble option to expand the text/history? The expanded mode should be the default (in fact I don't see any reason to have the limited size text space, especially since sometimes the entire DM's text doesn't fit and the space isn't scrollable). There also needs to be more information for items - the throwing knives for example don't display a damage amount.
Fix these issues and add the rest of the classes and races, and this would be a 5 star game. Even better would be to add some imagery throughout like the old Choose Your Own Adventure (and the D&D rulebooks) had!
★★★★★ Fun game with some issues
Sun Apr 05 2026 Brettamous14I am addicted to this game. I love the aspect of creating a story and it follows my direction. And with the rolling of dice for perception checks and things like that is quite fun. However there are things that can get annoying at time. One such thing is I find I have to constantly correct the DM where I’m at, or correct certain characteristics, such as eye color or hair color, not a big deal but when I’m forming a story, details matter. And I’ve been wanting to save my progress and when I click the link, it never lets me go all the way back to the beginning, only the last couple interactions before it glitches and brings me back to the last entry. But overall I love it and love all the twists and turns this game offers.
Edit: after almost a month of playing I had to delete my game because my character was “incapacitated” by a vision and no one in my party was attacking. Each turn I tried asking the DM what I could do and I kept getting the same response. I even tried saying on of my companions would attack and it didn’t work. My character was standing around in fear while 3 assassins were shooting at me. And because I was at a higher level they kept missing every time. So needless to say I’m incredibly irritated. I tried a new game but after spending so much time with my last game I just couldn’t. I got bored and deleted the app. Very disappointed in how it turned out.
★★★★★ Interesting idea, bad execution.
Mon Feb 02 2026 snow sage 47The idea of using an LLM as a DM to play solo D&D adventures is an interesting one. However, the game has all the hallmarks of an inexperienced DM. The ai drops the protagonist in the middle of an environment and expects them to build their own story. When you do, the AI is a slave to the dice and will repeatedly allow poor rolls to leave you with no direction to advance what passes for a story. When you attempt to speak to the AI DM directly, the system takes that as an “action “ and progresses the scene without acknowledging the problems you just explained that you were having. The core is good and it could be very strong if the LLM were trained on dynamic, engaging dungeon masters rather than rules as written, loose sandbox DMs. Unfortunately in its current state the game is not worth playing. It also bears consideration that the system gives you a set number of messages with your ai dm per month, and you need to pay for more, incentivizing the dev team to allow the DM to leave you at dead ends where you have to cast around for something to do. At minimum messages to the DM about what isn’t working in the story and how to improve need to be completely free, unlimited, and not tied to your limited action budget. More likely the dev team need to build their own story bones of a few stories by hand until the ai is able to understand the difference between a fun and interesting setback and a brick wall.
★★★★★ Amazing premise, just a few issues.
Sun Oct 12 2025 RenardthefoxI’ve been enjoying the app for about 2 months. I got to say the story telling and the details the AI DM give you are amazing. It really allows you to get creative with problem solving. If anything, I just have maybe 3 solid complaints. 1. There is a monthly allowance of responses you can do before it stops you and offers the subscription. (The allowance refreshes the first of each month. So it isn’t a huge issue if you don’t mind waiting.) 2. I haven’t been able to create my own character, because when I try to. The moment I get to the attribute distribution, I’m unable to scroll down to the final attribute charisma (which would be at a base of 8. Giving me a -1 modifier.) I tend to build charismatic characters and not being able to scroll down to add points to that one attribute really bugs me. I don’t want to play premade characters forever. (I am on mobile, so if there’s something I missed please let me know) the 3. Thing is when I was doing my adventure yesterday, the game had “network errors” and I had to redo an encounter 3 times. The first two times I passed my rolls (second time I crit so I was even happy for the network issue!) but then the third time made me roll a failure and I ended up having to fight multiple enemies at the same time. I’m unsure if that issue relies on my internet connection or if it’s the apps fault, so take that criticism with a grain of salt. If the issue with the character creation gets resolved. I would be the most happy and be able to give it more stars. Still, if you have the itch for DND, this does a good job to scratch that itch. 3.5/5
