Dungeon Within is a fantastic example of using game mechanics to tell a story. The 'Integration' system, where you literally learn skills from the fears you defeat, is a brilliant metaphor. Mechanically, it's a very sound tactical game. It reminds me a bit of 'Into the Breach' with its focus on small grids and predictable enemy movements.

The art style is very cool—mostly black and white but with vibrant splashes of color for the different emotions. It's also quite challenging; I died on the third floor more times than I'd like to admit. However, the progression system is fair, and I always felt like I was learning something new. It’s a deep, thoughtful game that feels very different from your standard fantasy dungeon crawler.

GameCoaster has a formula, and they’re sticking to it. If you liked Dungeon Maker or Dungeon Squad, you know what to expect here. The pixel art is top-notch, but the game feels 'Early Access' in its current state. Combat readability is poor—it’s hard to tell what’s happening once the screen fills with heroes. It’s also quite slow to get going. The potential is there, but it needs more content and a few balance passes before it reaches the heights of their previous titles.

Emotional Strategy

Yellow enemies (Anxiety) move fast but have low health. Blue enemies (Melancholy) are tanks that retaliate when hit. Use your 'Mindfulness' skill to skip a turn and double your defense when surrounded by Anxiety shadows.
