Lately, I have been having a hard time concentrating on anything due to headaches that are never ending. I was looking on the App Store, trying to find something I could easily do to keep myself busy that was accessible, easy, educational, and mostly free. Because I’m visually impaired I was thrilled when I saw this under the accessibility category, and even more thrilled when I downloaded and opened the app and found that the developer was true to their word. I’ve seen a lot of apps that fall under the accessible category and when I open them, they’re either not accessible or their extremely hard to use. Some of them just freeze up on me, but not this. I absolutely love it and I could do this for hours and never get bored of it. I believe this was definitely worth paying $10 for unlimited access

I overall enjoyed my experience playing art of fauna. The soundtracks are good, the stages are good and I enjoyed the information texts on the back after you finish the puzzle illustration. It reminds me of one of my favorite things I used to do when I was younger was go through those animal information cards/flash cards. It gives off a similar energy plus being a puzzle. The sounds when you move puzzle pieces was fun. I like how you can go back and read them too in the index after you finish them it stills stays as an option. I was originally going to rate it a three star because I realized I could only get ten free then the rest I had to pay and I didn’t realize. But I went back and it says I would so I missed it and that’s my fault I think the developer is also a solo developer (I think?) so it’s very nice for all of it honestly. I’m not currently buying the extension of more puzzles but I would consider it in the future. It’s overall an enjoyable niche-y game if that’s what you’re into so good job and I recommend if you’re into what I said above.

I usually don’t give reviews on apps, but I had to on this one. Being a blind gamer, I never find good games that are accessible for me. They either don’t work with my screen reader, or are just straight up confusing. The cozy puzzles help me relax after a long day. The puzzles are super fun and are very educational while also being fun. It’s excellent with my screen reader. One suggestion I have is to put an audio button, when you click on a tile to place it somewhere, it reads the tile. This way it would be more accessible for those who are dyslexic and have trouble reading. And if you don’t want it to read, like if you already have a screen reader, you can go to settings and turn it off. Thank you so much to the developers for making this game accessible to everyone. Hope yall like my suggestion.

A simple, relaxing puzzle game, with gorgeous art, where your purchases support conservation efforts. I’ve been really enjoying this. It engages my brain just enough, but is relaxing enough that I can wind down with it in the evening. I LOVE the art. According to the app, all pieces are sourced from Biodiversity Heritage Library, under Creative Commons. Hopefully the devs have plenty of images to use in the future! I would love if the app showed you the artist who created the image, after you’re done solving it. This way we can see the other art they’ve created, and support their work, if they’re still active. One thing that I appreciated seeing upon first opening the app, was all the accessibility settings. Simplified language option, turning off images of animals folks may have phobias of, voice over, OpenDyslexic and Lexend. It’s great to see the devs striving to make this game accessible, and hopefully they’ll continue to do so by taking user recommendations into consideration. I like the sounds in the game, but I wish they were more customizable. For instance, I like the background music during puzzles, but I would like the sound effects to be quieter. A master volume, and volume for background music and sound effects separately, would be nice. I ended up turning be off the sound effects because they were just a bit too loud and annoying for me. One of the best parts about this game is how our purchases will support orgs making conservation efforts. It looks like the devs will make donations twice per year, to two orgs each time, and are open to suggestions for orgs to donate to. I hope they continue to do this! Thank you for this lovely little game. I look forward to playing more. ☺️

“The Art of Fauna” ~ what an absolutely wonderful / beautiful application! I found it only because it was mentioned in a newsletter as the WINNER of an Apple Design Award for “Inclusitivity”. I am not a gamer but do enjoy a thought provoking challenge periodically. “The Art of Fauna” exceeds that description! Artwork, application design, fauna write-ups, background calming sounds, ALL aspects are a winner! It is also very clear to me that the author strives for perfection with nothing left to chance. As a past Info Technology professional, I love seeing this kind of quality and obvious pride in one’s work, as it’s a rarity these days. If you need support, a response is immediate and thoughtful. Give this app a go!

I can’t wait for the art of flora game to come out next, this game is satisfyingly easy or difficult, whichever you select, with a nice quality of free content. I will likely pay for the full content once I play through all of the free levels, but I hope that you continue to add more puzzle collections! As far as game mechanics, my only complaint is that sometimes when I am trying to drag a piece into an open spot, it just refuses to go, and bounces back until I move something else. But this is a minor complaint. Appreciate the quality of work in this app, and the care that has gone into it!!

I haven't paid for the full version... yet. But I wanted to write a review (which I never do) after playing the free version, which was a great impression within just 10 puzzles! I needed something to distract my mind for a bit and this was very peaceful. Everything about this app is very creative and beautiful; I hope it gains much more traction! To the developer, I commend your hard work and honesty. Your replies to reviews here are very personal, like a human is behind the app and not a robot, which is rare to see. Please don't let go of that when this app is sure to blow up! Thank you.
