Dinsun Review
I played Madden when it was just a few pixels, so I have a high tolerance for sports games. American Football Champs tries to bridge the gap between arcade fun and simulation, but it ends up in a weird middle ground. The physics are decent—the ball actually behaves like an oblong object—but the player movement feels like they're running through mud. It’s got a lot of content with all the different 'Bowls,' but the AI is easily exploitable. Once you find the one play that works, the 'strategy' goes out the window. It’s a passable distraction if you’re desperate for a football fix without Madden's microtransactions, but it’s not exactly a championship-level experience.
