Airport Empire 2026 strikes a great balance between a passive idle game and a more involved management sim. The inclusion of Air Traffic Control levels gives you something active to do when you aren't just waiting for your bank account to fill up. Seeing your small field grow into a massive city airport with multiple runways and a huge fleet of planes is very rewarding.

The UI is busy but functional, which fits the 'tycoon' theme perfectly. My only real gripe is that the ad frequency can be a bit high for certain upgrades, though there is an option to remove them. If you enjoy games where you can optimize systems and watch numbers go up while you sleep, this is one of the more polished airport simulators currently available.

Dinsun here. I’ve seen enough 'Empire' games to know exactly what this is within five seconds. You start with one runway, you wait for some money to trickle in, you buy a second runway. Rinse and repeat. It’s well-made for what it is—the graphics are modern and the UI is cleaner than most of its competitors.

However, it lacks any real 'soul.' You aren't managing an airport; you're managing progress bars. The 'offline earnings' are just a way to keep you coming back to see the same numbers go up. If you like the airport theme specifically, it’s a decent version of this genre. But don't go in thinking you're playing a deep simulator like SimCity. This is an idle clicker with a fresh coat of paint.
