I’ve seen enough of these 'survivor' clones to know that flashy numbers often mask a lack of depth. 20 Minutes Till Dawn actually tries to introduce some mechanical bite by making you aim your weapon—a novel concept for the genre, apparently. The upgrade trees are decent, and I appreciate the darker, limited-color palette; it’s a refreshing break from the neon vomit found in most mobile games. However, once the screen fills up with projectiles and eldritch horrors, the performance starts to chug, even on modern hardware. It’s a solid time-waster, but it doesn't reinvent the wheel, and the grind for new characters feels more like a chore than a reward. If you're looking for a quick fix of tactical shooting, this does the job, but don't expect it to replace the classics of the genre.
