Trials of Mana+ is a joyful, colorful explosion of classic RPG energy. The transition from 2D to 3D was handled with so much love—the world feels just as magical as it did in the 90s. The real-time combat is breezy and satisfying, making it a great pick for those who find turn-based battles a bit slow.

The real hook here is the replayability. Because your story changes based on who you pick, I found myself jumping back in for a second run almost immediately. It’s not the most difficult game in the world, and the voice acting can be a bit 'Saturday morning cartoon,' but the charm is undeniable. It's pure, unadulterated JRPG fun.

Dinsun here. It's a miracle we finally got this game in the West. This remake is colorful and the combat is snappy enough. However, the English voice acting is nearly unbearable—I recommend switching to Japanese immediately. The world feels a bit static, and the AI for your companions is dim-witted at best. It's a solid weekend play, but don't expect the depth of a modern blockbuster.
