The Baby In Yellow is an absolute masterclass in indie horror. It takes a mundane, relatable task—babysitting—and slowly twists it into a surreal, terrifying nightmare. What makes this game stand out is its balance of dark humor and genuine dread. The physics of the baby are hilarious and unsettling at the same time; watching the infant levitate or vanish into thin air while you're just trying to find a fresh bottle creates a unique kind of tension.
The environmental storytelling is superb, with the apartment changing subtly around you as you uncover the mystery of who (or what) this baby actually is. The 'Black Cat' updates added significantly more depth to the game, providing more elaborate puzzles and a broader scope. It’s short enough to be played in one sitting but polished enough to stay in your head for days. If you're a fan of 'creepy' horror rather than just 'gory' horror, this is a must-play.
I don't understand the modern obsession with 'mascot horror' and streamer-bait, but here we are. The Baby in Yellow is a prime example of a game designed to be yelled at by people with ring lights. You perform chores, the baby teleports, something spooky happens, repeat. It’s competent enough in its execution, and I’ll admit the ragdoll physics provide a morbid chuckle when the kid flies across the room, but as a serious horror experience? It’s hollow.
The atmosphere is surprisingly decent in the later chapters, but the core loop is essentially 'Babysitting Simulator with Jump Scares.' For a gamer like me who grew up on Silent Hill and Resident Evil, this feels like a toy rather than a nightmare. The controls are a bit finicky on touch screens, and while it's free-to-play, it's clearly hunting for those viral moments rather than crafting a cohesive, rewarding narrative. It’s fine for a quick distraction, but it lacks the gravitas of a truly great genre entry.
Performance: Occasional physics glitches and clipping, but generally stable.
Buy if: You enjoy 'let's play' style horror and absurdist comedy.
Skip if: You prefer atmospheric, psychological horror with deep lore.

The Baby In Yellow is a viral horror-comedy experience where you must take care of an extremely unsettling infant. In this short but intense journey, you'll perform standard caregiving tasks like feeding and changing, only to find the world around you warping as the baby reveals its true nature. With physics-based puzzles, unexpected jumpscares, and a dark, intriguing narrative, it’s a unique take on the 'babysitting from hell' trope.
Hilarious and horrifying physics-based gameplay
Intriguing storyline with hidden secrets
Atmospheric and detailed 3D environment
Frequent content updates and new chapters
If the baby disappears, check the most unlikely places first—like the top of the refrigerator or behind the locked nursery door. Always keep a bottle nearby; feeding him is the only way to reset his aggression levels temporarily.
