I’ve never fully understood the appeal of games that play themselves, but Tap Knight at least has the decency to look like an old SNES title. The pixel art is actually quite good—it's clean and has a bit of personality. As for the 'gameplay,' well, you tap. Then you stop tapping and let the numbers go up. It’s digital bubble wrap.

It’s better than the 3D runners I’ve been seeing lately, mostly because the progression feels somewhat structured. You get a new sword, you see the damage numbers get bigger, you repeat. It’s a conservative, by-the-books idle game. It doesn't do anything wrong, per se, but it doesn't do anything brave either. If you need something to keep your thumb busy while watching TV, this is fine, but don't expect a real RPG experience.
