Sticks 'n Stones in IOS

Close boxes, Get points

Our Expert Score

82/100

Sticks 'n Stones is a refreshing, minimalist take on the classic 'Dots and Boxes' game that many of us grew up playing on paper. What makes this mobile adaptation stand out is its clean aesthetic—replacing simple pen marks with stones and sticks—and its seamless multiplayer functionality. The game board is a grid of stones where you and your opponents take turns placing sticks to create boundaries. The tension builds as the grid fills up; one wrong move and you’re handing your opponent a chain of completed boxes and the points that come with them.

Technically, the game is very stable and offers both local pass-and-play for up to four people and online matchmaking. It’s the kind of title that doesn't demand hours of your time but offers a deep level of tactical depth in short bursts. Whether you're playing a quick match during a commute or a longer session with friends, the 'just one more turn' feeling is very much present. It’s a polished, no-nonsense digital board game that honors its roots while looking great on modern screens.
