Squell is a surprisingly deep word-puzzle experience that feels like a cross between Boggle and a Rubik's Cube. The core mechanic involves sliding rows and columns of letters to form words, which sounds simple until you realize that every move can disrupt three other potential words you were building. It demands a level of spatial reasoning that most word games ignore.
The minimalist aesthetic is a major plus, keeping the focus entirely on the grid. While the early levels serve as a gentle introduction, the later 'Genius' stages are genuine brain-burners. My only minor gripe is the lack of a built-in dictionary for some of the more obscure words the AI accepts, but as a pure logic-meets-vocabulary challenge, itβs one of the most polished indies I've played this year.

Squell is a casual spelling game that challenges your vocabulary and your spatial reasoning. Imagine Boggle got a little too friendly with a Rubik's cube and you've got Squell. Rearrange a grid of letters to spell words. How many moves you make matters, but get good and keep the game going to rack up tons of points.
Squell games are controlled by how many moves you make, so you play it at your own pace. It's a great game to put down and come back to later, since all progress is saved on your device as you play and you can always review the words you've already spelled. It works offline, so it's great on a plane, a train, or in that waiting room with no cell service.
Squell is simple to play, but with plenty of strategies to uncover and master, you'll come back to it again and again!

Squell is a sophisticated word game that tasks players with manipulating a grid of letters. Unlike traditional word searches, Squell requires you to slide entire rows and columns to find the correct alignment. With over 200 handcrafted levels, the game evolves from simple four-letter finds to complex multi-word grids that require careful planning and a sharp eye.

Global Leaderboards
Remember that tiles wrapped around the edge of the board. If a letter is on the far right, sliding it right once puts it on the far left. Use this to bridge gaps without moving the middle tiles.
Choose between 'Relax Mode' for untimed play or 'Blitz' to see how many words you can forge before the grid locks.
Currently, Squell is optimized for English, but localized dictionaries for French and Spanish are in development.
