Tue Jun 17 2025 Kalihi1234This game has a lot of potential to be as good as Fallout Shelter. One of the main concerns people have with survival game is that can become repetitive over time. I’m currently at a point where I’m mostly grinding to recruit more people and upgrades my defense. At some point, what would be the goal when I’m at max level defense and 20 people in my squad? However, each mission gets challenging, which keeps the gameplay fun and enjoyable. There are a few bugs that need to be addressed, and the controls could use some improvement. Overall, though, the game is enjoyable. My biggest concern is the current use of gems and coins. Right coin, gems can be used to buy gold, and gold is essential for upgrading defenses and characters. It would be great to see gems used for other things-perhaps cosmetics. I also recommend adding a building feature that lets players move rooms around. For example, I built a defense room early on and spent a lot of gold on it, but after building other rooms around it, it became useless. I really hope this game continues to get updates, because it would be a shame if it was released and then left without additional content, like so many other games on the App Store. Thanks!

Sun Jun 15 2025 PaganwitchIAI have been waiting for a game like this. I was getting bored of my usual games and wanted to try something new. I absolutely love it! I’ve only been playing for a couple of days, but if the preview intrigues you, you really should try it. I love how it’s a mix of downtime and active fighting. I love collecting and mining and upgrading my ship. It’s just great fun. I also love going back to replay an area, and it is different… just like a planet would be - always evolving. I’m excited to see what more can be done to make this game even better over time.

Sat Oct 18 2025 NewEra37The constant attacks on the ship, and as you increase in level, the amount of damage done is insane the amount of stuff you lose like how much you would have to play just to try to maintain what you have. I just don’t understand the game that doesn’t seem like you can make something nice or make any type of headway because of the cost and bombardment should also allow for people to move around the different parts of the ship once it’s Placed. You know if you want to continue bombardment at least add an option to incorporate shields on the outside of the rooms or additions to your ship maybe some type of auto through system some type of upgrade that makes sense to combat the bombardment and a handling of the character and being able to mind while fighting characters is just flimsy needs a lot of work. It’s like this the basic joy thing going on right now. And lastly, being that you can be attacked from 360 around a ship wouldn’t you think multiple exits from the ship would’ve been a great idea to help the player a little bit.

Fri Jul 11 2025 HazardusKiwiI love the core concept of Space Squad Survival a mix of space exploration, squad management, and survival elements that has a lot of potential to hook players. The gameplay loop feels fresh and engaging, and I genuinely wanted to dive deeper into building my squad and tackling challenges.
Unfortunately, the game currently plays like it’s in early access, with several bugs and design oversights that frustrated me enough to stop at level 4.
Right from the start, there’s a noticeable bug in the tutorial: when prompted to upgrade the defensive cannon, the “upgrade” button doesn’t respond unless you manually drag it over the cannon itself. This clunky interaction sets a rough tone early on. Other issues compound the experience. Picked-up items (like gas) can’t be placed or equipped in any intuitive way, leaving them feeling useless. Worse, there’s no descriptions for items or rewards, turning choices into pure guesswork which kills the strategic depth the game seems to aim for. The narrative auto-advances without pause, robbing players of agency. It would be a huge improvement to add options to return to the ship or manually continue, allowing for better pacing and exploration.
These bugs and control problems made the game feel early access and hard to stick with, despite its charm. I’d happily revisit if the developers address these in updates fingers crossed for patches soon, as this could be a standout title with some refinements!

Fri Jun 13 2025 skullkethWhen you go to upgrade you sometimes couldn’t press the button to use your coins and instead it would click over an object. The gameplay is really good but I just wish that you could advance through zones whenever you want to instead of automatically going to the next zone because you would want to go back to the other zones for more resources. Besides that I feel like the controls are a bit smooth but it could definitely use some improvement. Good game still!

Sat Oct 04 2025 Bib FreshtunaThe game is fun, but a couple of things make it less enjoyable to keep playing: the unforgiveness of placing rooms in the ship (sometimes it places the room one way, sometimes a different way, and there’s no way to know until you place it. In addition to that, once placed, you can move or unbuild the room. This is frustrating as heck.
The next big thumbs down is the number of times the game freezes after watching an ad to continue. All you can do at that point is reset the game and lose all progress.
I may try it again in a month or so, and if it’s different/fixed, I’d give it 5-stars for sure!

Fri Jun 06 2025 olie0lamdThis game seems to have a lot of potential. At the moment, you can tell that it’s missing a lot of elements that would make it a five star game. But I think the developers will get on top of it. For now, it feels a little messy, the controllers are not great, And there’s a little to no explanations or tutorials. Which is fine for a lot of people, but I can see this being a turnoff to a lot of potential players in the future. Given it four stars now, because I believe it will be a fun game when the dust settles and more things are added.

Fri Jun 06 2025 Cban_ogI pre-ordered this game as it reminded me of don’t starve and oxygen not included. As for the content and core gameplay I think they have nailed it as a good survival/progression game. However, I despise the controls. To move the character you have to drag your finger across the screen. Many times I reach the end of my screen but still need to move miles to the side. It also makes staying in one place super difficult which is important as that is how you mine/access parts of the ship. If the movement controls were a simple joystick, this would easily be a 5/5. Since the movement makes the game so difficult to play I can not recommend this game that highly.
