Dinsun Review
At 40 years old, I've seen enough generic mobile hack-and-slash games to spot a grind-heavy time sink from a mile away. Soul Huntress puts on a decent show with its bright anime visuals and offline convenience, but once you peel back the layers of floating damage numbers and flashing skill cooldowns, there is very little substance left to chew on.
You essentially walk into small arenas, mash your skill buttons until everything on screen dissolves, and then repeat the exact same process a hundred more times to upgrade your gear numbers. There's no tactical positioning, no meaningful enemy AI to outsmart, and no respect for the player's intelligence. If you're stuck on a subway with no Wi-Fi and need something brainless to tap away at, it functions. But calling this a proper action game is an insult to anyone who grew up playing actual arcade beat-em-ups.
