I've always had a soft spot for tactical shooters and stealth games, but mobile adaptations rarely capture what makes the genre great. Shoot Hide tries to blend run-and-gun action with cover mechanics, but the touch controls are entirely too slippery to execute precise maneuvers. When you're trying to line up a clean shot or slip behind a wall, the last thing you need is fighting your own input device.
The level design quickly devolves into repetitive arenas with predictable enemy AI that either stands completely still or tracks you with unfair precision. At 40 years old, I expect tighter mechanical responsiveness from action games. While it offers a brief diversion for commutes, the shallow progression and frustrating hitboxes mean it gets old fast.
