If you aren't familiar with Sheepshead (Schafkopf), the learning curve is admittedly steep—it’s a complex trick-taking game with a unique trump hierarchy—but the app's 'Pro' features help bridge that gap. The AI is surprisingly sharp, playing with the kind of calculated risk-taking you’d expect from a veteran at a local tavern.

The UI is clean and focuses on readability, which is crucial for a game with so many rules and variations. What I appreciated most was the ability to customize the 'house rules,' from Leasters to crack/doubling. It captures the social, strategic essence of the game perfectly. While it doesn't have the flashy animations of a modern gacha, it’s a rock-solid, professional-grade simulation that respects its heritage and its players.

Counting Trump

In Sheepshead, there are 14 trumps. Always keep track of which Queens and Jacks have been played. If you are the 'Picker' and hold the Queen of Spades, you control the game—use it to draw out your opponents' lower trumps early.
