84/100

Silt is a breathtakingly eerie experience that will completely captivate fans of atmospheric indie hits like Limbo or Inside. The ink-drawn, high-contrast monochrome visual style gives the entire underwater world a haunting, nightmarish quality that makes every deep-sea trench feel genuinely mysterious and unsettling.

The core mechanic of leaving your diver’s body to possess local marine life is beautifully integrated into the puzzle design. Figuring out how to use a heavy, armored fish to smash ancient infrastructure or a small, agile creature to navigate a maze of deadly electric eels feels organic and rewarding.

The game relies heavily on its dark mood and tense pacing, which might feel slightly oppressive if you prefer upbeat, colorful casual games. But if you appreciate exquisite art direction, clever environmental puzzles, and a deeply immersive, unsettling sense of isolation, Silt is an unforgettable journey into the deep.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. Silt is an impressive exercise in visual dread. The ink-drawn monochrome rendering of the ocean floor creates a genuine sense of cold isolation that few games manage. The core gimmick of possessing marine life to cut ropes or smash obstacles works perfectly well as a structural frame, though it's fairly clear the developers were more interested in art design than pushing the envelope on puzzle mechanics. It's on the short side, but it stays with you after you park the diver.
