Roundguard is what happens when you take the addictive physics of 'Peggle' and smash it into a deep, funny roguelike dungeon crawler. Instead of shooting silver balls, you’re launching heroes (Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, or Druid) into rooms filled with monsters, loot, and hazards. Every bounce deals damage or collects gold, and the strategy comes from using your hero's unique skills mid-air to redirect your momentum or blast enemies.
What makes it a great roguelike is the 'Permadeath with Benefits' system. Even when a run ends in disaster, you usually get to bring a trinket back for the next run, making you feel like you're always making progress. The writing is genuinely funny, with a cast of 'oddball' characters like rats who want to kill their king or a moody teenage skeleton. It’s highly polished, supports controllers, and has no ads. It’s easily one of the best 'one more run' games on the App Store.
