There’s a thin line between 'homage' and 'imitation,' and Pop's World crossed it miles ago. This is essentially a bootleg Super Mario Bros. with the serial numbers filed off—and not very well, I might add. The physics are floaty, the level design is repetitive, and the 'original' enemies look like they were pulled from a generic asset pack. I've spent decades playing platformers that pushed the boundaries of the genre; this one is content to just sit in the mud and copy its betters. It’s playable, sure, but why would you play this when the real thing exists? It’s littered with ads that break the flow of an already mediocre experience. Conservative as I am, I appreciate tradition, but tradition requires quality. This is just lazy.
