Dinsun Review
I’ve been shooting things in virtual space since Doom 1. Polygun Arena is the 'white bread' of modern shooters. It’s clean, it’s functional, but it has no flavor. The low-poly look is clearly a choice to ensure it runs on every potato-phone on the planet, which is fine, but it also makes the maps feel like they were made in a generic level editor. The gunplay is snappy, I'll give it that, but there's zero recoil or weight to the weapons. It’s 'Fisher-Price: My First FPS.'
There’s no soul here. The characters are generic blocks with different hats, and the maps have no personality. It’s a game built for the 'Fortnite generation' who just want to jump in, shoot some stuff, and look at their colorful skins. As a 40-year-old gamer, I need more. I need atmosphere, I need tactical depth, and I need a reason to care. Polygun Arena offers none of that. It’s a perfectly functional toy, but it’s a mediocre game.
