Dinsun Review

Point Salad is a reminder that you don't need complex 3D graphics or a 50-hour story to make a good game. The digital version captures the elegance of the physical card game perfectly. The core mechanic—choosing between a vegetable for your 'recipe' or a scoring condition—is brilliant in its simplicity. It’s fast-paced and requires you to constantly pivot your strategy based on what your opponents are drafting. This is real game design.

The app itself is functional and well-made, though the UI is a bit 'flat' for my taste. I appreciate that it’s a premium experience without the constant ad-nagging found in everything else on this list. It’s a bit niche if you aren’t into board games, but for anyone who values strategic depth over flashy gimmicks, this is a standout. It loses points only for a somewhat bare-bones online lobby system.

Balancing Your Salad

Don't hoard vegetables too early without a scoring card to back them up. Look at what your opponents are collecting; if everyone is fighting over tomatoes, pivot to onions and grab the scoring card that rewards high onion counts while they are still available.

Card Drafting Mechanics

On your turn, you can either take two vegetable cards from the market or one point-scoring card from the deck. You can flip a point card to its vegetable side at any time, but you can never flip a vegetable back into a scoring rule!
