Our Expert Score

92/100

Please, Touch The Artwork is a rare gem that manages to turn abstract art into a deeply engaging mechanical playground. It breaks the 'do not touch' rule of galleries, inviting you into three distinct puzzle games inspired by the works of Piet Mondrian. The first mode is a zen-like journey of color-filling, while the second introduces a complex 'snake' mechanic through Boogie Woogie-style grids. The third, and perhaps most emotional, tells a story of two squares through minimalist movement.

As a critic, I am floored by the developer's ability to translate complex art history into intuitive gameplay. The music is a soothing jazz that perfectly complements the 1920s aesthetic. It isn't just a puzzle game; it’s an interactive art history lesson that feels accessible and unpretentious. The difficulty curve is gentle, focusing more on the 'aha!' moment than on frustrating the player. It’s a masterclass in style and substance.
