I’ve played enough Pong and Table Tennis Pro in my life to know that the feel of the paddle is everything. Ping Pong Squad goes for the 'casual arcade' route, which is fine, but it feels a bit floaty. The 'squad' aspect is mostly just a way to hide some typical mobile RPG-lite progression systems—upgrading stats like 'power' and 'speed' with coins. The character designs are quirky, which I appreciate, but the actual ping pong doesn't feel very tactical. You just swipe and hope your stats are high enough to win the rally. It’s a decent time-waster for five minutes, but there's no real 'meat' here for sports fans. It’s a bit too reliant on the 'hero collection' hook instead of the sport itself.
