I've tapped along to rhythm games since Guitar Hero and Osu!, so PianoFold's concept isn't entirely new, even if its foldable orientation on the iPhone Duo is clever. Having the top display act as an AR-style window while tapping lower touch pads makes for an ergonomic setup.
The inclusion of a full practice suite with tempo sliders and 'Wait for me' modes is commendable for audio training. However, public domain classical music arrangements get tired quickly, and rhythmic timing feedback lacks the razor-sharp tactile responsiveness found in dedicated arcade rhythm titles. It's a fine distraction, but hardly revolutionary.
