solid game with no IAPs (yet)
Tue Jun 09 2020 DoubtedcampI’m pretty new to the rhythm game scene but Phigros has to be one of the neatest rhythm games i’ve ever played. It takes the scanline playstyle (similar to cytus) and flips that on its head. The scanline can be horizontal or vertical and the notes can come from any direction.
On top of that, there’s no IAPs at all. There’s a grip of songs under the singles category which can all be bought with the in game currency, which is known as bytes. There also seems to be a story involved, but it’s pretty vague. Progressing through chapters is pretty easy, achieve an A rank on a song to move onto the next one. However, in order to unlock the insane difficulties of songs, you need to achieve an S rank (920K) on easier difficulties, or achieve an A rank (880K) on IN difficulty prior to the song you want. There’s also a boss song which requires special steps to unlock. (Look it up on the wiki if you wanna know how to unlock it.)
Overall, there’s no reason not to check Phigros out. It’s completely free and there’s a wide variety of songs to play.
Made with Care
Mon May 26 2025 AppleClamzI don’t normally write reviews for games because I don’t usually have a need to, but this game makes me compelled to write a review.
I got this game because I saw someone I followed on Instagram play a level, and I thought it was cool. Out of all the rhythm games I've ever played, none of them make me feel as awed and appreciated as Phigros does. This game is the first game that feels like it was made by rhythm gamers FOR rhythm gamers. The visuals made by the game elements are stunning. The songs are beautiful chosen and mapped. The challenge is super rewarding. Plus, I didn't have to pay over 100 dollars in order to play songs that I like. Also, despite how difficult so many songs are, there’s not a single (at least, from what I can tell) map that forces me to use more than just two fingers.
This game has brought back my spark for rhythm games, a spark that lets me enjoy songs for more than simply "I like this specific song". It's a wonderfully crafted game.
Works well

Mysterious and fun ;)) 拍掌掌
Mon Jan 02 2023 ChocolatecakrI LOVE how the “rhythm line” bounces with the beat and the special effects that change the way the notes fall (you’ll understand what I mean when you download the game wink wink) Some people say it’s annoying but I think it’s a very creative way to immerse the player into the heat of the song. I really like the dark and alluring dashboard and navigation (´⊙ω⊙`) The game is stress-free and, well, FREE. The Tips are fun to read in between too ahaha. The entries in the “story” section don’t seem to connect to each other and confused me a lot (连忙捡起中文字典 ಥ_ಥ playing this in Chinese is too hard on me help) It’s probably better to look at it as a collection of scraps of writing and poems. In conclusion, Phigros is a great way to kill time when you’re stuck without internet. My favorite song so far is “混乱-Confusion” in the Legacy album :DD
Great game that never ceases to disappoint
Wed May 05 2021 scene changeI love the concept of the whole game with the moving judgement line and in game currency. You can replay songs over and over again with different difficulty levels so it never becomes too easy. The art is original and amazing and the whole layout of game is gorgeous.
I do have a few suggestions for the next update.
1. In both the profile and selection screen it does not record phi and full combo scores. I have about 4 or 5 phi scores but only says I have one. Sometimes the screen says it’s all 0.
2. Add a contact link and or option in settings - for the first suggestion I immediately went to settings to contact the company but there is no option. The support link in the App Store is disabled and the only way to fix the problem is wait for someone else to complain, write a review here and hope for the company to see it here, or dm on Twitter. There is no guarantee that they will see my suggestions on both platforms but it’s worth a try. I just think it would be less of a hassle if the contact for bugs problem was in game
But this doesn’t dissuade me from the game, I love it regardless. These suggestions are small and more just nit picking. Please give this unique game a try.
banger rhythm game, 10/10 would recommend
Wed Jul 30 2025 moooonsssI’ve played phigros for years at this point and have stuck with it throughout. it’s pure rhythm game and non profit- meaning no ads, no login streaks, no pay to win currency, just pure rhythm game. it has a unique gameplay style and levels with crazy judgement line movement, april fools updates, new levels at least monthly, a hundreds of levels with different difficulties for everyone. the scoring system and gameplay are both entirely skill based, meaning your score depends entirely on how well you performed. no upgrades, characters (cough cough project sekai), player level, etc. absolutely amazing game, doesn’t even require internet to play. if you are looking for the rhythm game experience with no extra systems and purely skill based, phigros is absolutely the game for you.
2 years and still going strong
Wed Sep 07 2022 RadEmpoleonI've been playing this game for about 2 years now and it's amazing to see how far it's come. It's easier to navigate through all the songs at once, many older and clunkier charts have been revamped, and there's a challenge mode with a stricter scoring system, to name a few things. Not to mention we finally have CLOUD SAVE FUNCTION! Even still, the most surprising thing is that the game is still completely free. As much as I enjoy free stuff, I find it almost suspicious that there aren't any IAPs. Makes me wonder how they get the funds for all these big updates and collabs with other rhythm games... To get back on topic, I have enjoyed playing Phigros for the last 2 years and I hope it gets even better! Thank you Pigeon Games developers!!
No Reason Not To Download
Sat Sep 28 2019 SlyBloomI play a lot of rhythm games, but this one is straight up amazing. I truly recommend this to any other rhythm game lovers. The design is smooth, it’s not laggy, and the songs are cool so far. Not to mention, you don’t have to buy songs or items to unlock songs unlike some games (*COuGh VOEZ) to truly enjoy it, it’s FREE. The rotating judgment line was weird at first (games like Lanota have a basis of the hit area being a circle and such I’ve never really seen rotating judgement lines) but it’s not that hard once you start practicing and anticipating the notes. One suggestion though, instead of just one sound effect maybe have multiple in the future? I notice that most rhythm games don’t have that feature and it’s nice to have more than one sound effect to use sometimes.
Overall though, this game is great.
Pretty strong start
Tue Sep 10 2019 ArkamatyThe moving line gimmick takes a bit of getting used to, but after a while it gets to be pretty fun. As someone who has played numerous rhythm games, I would rank the mechanics of this one up there. Some of the charts are a bit too quirky though to the point that they almost abuse the mechanics, such as moving the holds around without warning (would recommend something which indicates where the holds move to ahead of time kind of like VOEZ does) or making the line jump a bit too suddenly so as to limit note visibility, but generally these aren’t too common. Overall, once you learn the charts, I would say that as of right now it is one of the easier rhythm games out there, so it’s a good one to start with. Will probably recommend to anyone I want to drag down the rhythm gaming path with me.
My Favorite Mobile Rhythm Game
Wed Mar 12 2025 BeatlesPkmnFanPhigros is an entirely free (no gacha, DLC, or ads) rhythm game with incredibly fun and unique gameplay. The primary gimmick that sets it apart is a freely moving judgement line. The line can appear on the bottom, top, sides, diagonally, anywhere. There can also be more than one judgement line at a time, leading to situations where you have to read notes scrolling in multiple directions at a time.
The game does have some small features to offset this challenge of the gameplay. Flick notes can be pressed as long as you are gliding your finger. Typically in most other mobile rhythm games with flick notes, they need to all be tapped individually. But in Phigros, if there’s several flicks in a row, you can keep your finger on the screen, just making sure that your finger is moving as each flick note goes through the judgement line.
Additionally, notes can be hit by tapping anywhere, so long as you are tapping within the path of the note. For example, with notes are scrolling upward, you can still hit them by tapping the bottom of the screen to avoid blocking your view.
My one gripe with the game is unlocking songs in the singles category is a bit grindy.
