As a gamer who grew up on Sensible Soccer, calling this a 'soccer game' is a stretch. It’s a digital toy. My kid might find the animations cute for ten minutes, but there’s no challenge here. It’s effectively a 'press button, see animation' simulator. The art style is pleasant and it’s clearly built with care for a specific demographic, but for anyone looking for a 'game,' this isn't it.
I appreciate the lack of microtransactions and the focus on safety, which is rare these days. However, the interactivity is so basic that it feels more like an animated book than a sports title. It's fine for what it is, but 'what it is' is very, very limited.
