OCO in IOS

one-touch puzzle-platformer

Walkthrough, Guilds, Tips on this special game

Our Site Score

82/100

OCO is a minimalist's dream. The circular level design is really clever and forces you to think about timing in a different way than standard 2D platformers. The 'one-button' controls are deceptively simple, but the puzzles quickly become complex as you deal with gravity and rotating hazards.

The best part of OCO is the community levels. There is a nearly endless supply of content, and the built-in level editor is surprisingly powerful. The soundtrack is also procedurally generated based on your actions, which makes every successful run sound like a unique piece of electronic music.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. OCO is a game for people who think most games are too loud. It’s stripped down to the bone—one button, circles, and colors. I can appreciate the efficiency. The way the sound syncs with your jumps is well-executed, and some of the later puzzles actually require a bit of brainpower. It's a 'zen' game, which is usually code for 'boring,' but OCO keeps the pressure on with move-count limits.

My gripe is that it feels more like an app than a game. There's no weight to anything. You jump, you loop, you finish. The community levels are a nice touch, but quality varies wildly. It's great for five minutes, but I find my mind wandering after ten. It lacks a hook that makes me want to come back for anything other than a quick distraction. Clean, but sterile.
