As a 40-year-old gamer who prefers mechanics that respect my time and intelligence, wading through this title felt like chore work. The core loop consists entirely of dragging matching icons onto one another on a grid to generate higher-tier items, which you then hand over to characters to unlock tiny slivers of a bland mystery story. It is the textbook definition of a Skinner box.
The progression is aggressively throttled by an energy system that forces you to stop playing just as you might be finding a rhythm, unless, of course, you open your wallet. The art style is clean, but the gameplay offers zero intellectual stimulation or rewarding challenge. It's designed to prey on psychological habits rather than provide genuine entertainment. If you want a relaxing puzzle experience, play almost anything else; this town is better left unexplored.
