Match Attack: Match 3 Rogue is a standout title for fans of both puzzle games and deckbuilding roguelikes. The turn-based combat transforms standard tile-matching into a thoughtful tactical exercise, where planning cascades and managing enemy attack countdowns is crucial to survival.
The relic synergies offer fantastic replayability, allowing for completely different playstyles depending on whether you lean into elemental spell builds or defensive armor stacking. Fast-paced, deeply rewarding, and visually crisp, it is a brilliant mobile strategy game.
I approached this expecting another predatory match-3 game full of stamina timers and paid continues. I was pleasantly surprised. Michael Ip delivers a respectable roguelike deckbuilder formula applied to a matching board, akin to Puzzle Quest crossed with Slay the Spire. With over 280 relics, build diversity is legitimately impressive.
That said, it isn't perfect. Like many tile-matching games, bad board RNG can occasionally doom a solid run regardless of your tactical planning. The art style is minimalist pixel workβfunctional, but nothing to write home about. Still, for a fair single-purchase ad-removal model, it deserves credit.
Performance: Flawless state preservation mid-fight, zero crash instances, customizable text sizing up to 150%.
