For the first few competitive matches, carefully positioning your fighters and pulling off a clutch synergy feels genuinely rewarding. The tactical decision-making carries weight, and outsmarting an opponent through superior board placement scratches a familiar strategic itch.

However, it doesn't take long for the free-to-play economic reality to rear its ugly head. At 40 years old, I have zero tolerance for competitive multiplayer games where victories are dictated more by the size of your wallet than the sharpness of your mind. Once you climb past the introductory ranks, you hit an absolute wall of opponents sporting heavily over-leveled cards that require endless grinding or cash injections to overcome. It's a frustrating loop that disrespects the player's time and competitive integrity. If you enjoy whale-dominated arenas, go ahead; otherwise, save your sanity.
