Kensho is a mesmerizing puzzle game that feels like a journey through nature. The tile-sliding mechanics are intuitive, but the way the game constantly introduces new elements and changing environments keeps it fresh. The visual transitions between levels are some of the most beautiful I've seen in an indie game.
The soundtrack is a standout feature—it’s incredibly atmospheric and perfectly matches the mood of each new 'world' you discover. It’s not an overly stressful puzzle game; it’s more about the flow and the experience. It’s highly recommended for anyone who wants a beautiful, meditative challenge.
Dinsun here. Kenshō is eye candy, plain and simple. The way the levels transform and the camera moves is genuinely impressive for a mobile title. It’s meant to be a 'journey,' and on that front, it succeeds—it’s very relaxing and pleasant to look at. For a 40-year-old looking to unwind after a long day, there are worse ways to spend your time.
But if we’re talking about the puzzles? They’re fine. It’s a variant of 2048 or Threes, mixed with some match-3 elements. It never gets particularly difficult, and the mechanics don't evolve much throughout the game. It’s a very conservative approach to puzzle design; it relies on its presentation to do the heavy lifting. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I can't help feeling it’s more of a screen-saver than a deep game. If you want a challenge, look elsewhere. If you want to zone out for an hour, this is it.
