Kahuna is a fantastic digital adaptation of the classic two-player board game. It captures the tense, tug-of-war strategy of the original perfectly. You play as a priest competing for control over a chain of twelve islands by placing bridges to connect them. The game is incredibly easy to learn—play a card to place a bridge—but the tactical depth is immense. Controlling an island requires having more than half of its possible bridges, and once you take control, your opponent's bridges on that island are destroyed, often creating a domino effect across the map.

The AI in the mobile version is surprisingly competent, offering a genuine challenge for veteran players. The visual style is evocative of its tropical theme, with a clean interface that makes the complex board state easy to read at a glance. It’s a 'quick' strategy game, with matches usually lasting 10-15 minutes, making it ideal for mobile play. It’s a masterclass in elegant board game design—simple rules that lead to very complex decisions.

You can easily conquer all islands with iOS 12 and the iPhone X, now. In addition to some graphic adjustments for even more fun, we have updated the privacy policy. Last but not least, Kahuna can now be played in French.
Let the magical strategy game take you to paradise islands! As a powerful Kahuna priest, you‘ll fight exciting duels in order to conquer a paradisiac archipelago in the South Pacific.
Build bridges to link the islands to each other, and try to expand your empire of islands as much as possible through three rounds of the match. You‘ll need a good strategy to do so; but only, if the gods are well disposed towards you, you’ll draw the right cards – and be able to conquer the beach paradise.
In the single-player campaign, compete with the friendly fisherman, the skilful tattoo artist, the merciless warrior, or the ingenious chieftain; or prove yourself in multi-player matches against your friends or Kahuna players from all over the world. You’ll learn the simple rules of the exciting board game very quickly; however, conquering the island paradise will turn out well only for the best.
Join us on an exciting journey to the South Pacific – but be careful: its magic doesn’t let you go anymore!

The Chain Reaction

The key to winning Kahuna is the 'Double Capture.' If you can take control of an island that serves as a central hub, you will destroy your opponent's bridges, which might cause them to lose control of *other* adjacent islands. Look for these weak points in their network to turn the tide in a single turn.

You can only hold five cards at a time. Don't play them all at once! Sometimes 'passing' and drawing up to your maximum hand size is better, allowing you to launch a massive, multi-bridge assault on a heavily defended island later.
