Our Site Score

93/100

If you are a fan of J-Pop or the virtual singer scene, 'KAMITSUBAKI CITY ENSEMBLE' is an absolute treat. The production value is sky-high; every track feels like a music video come to life. The rhythm mechanics are precise and satisfying, with a 'flick' system that feels much more natural than in other competing titles.

What really sets this apart from games like 'Project Sekai' is the atmospheric, slightly melancholic vibe of the city itself. It feels like a cohesive world rather than just a menu for songs. The tracklist is excellent, featuring some of the best hits from KAF and the rest of the studio. It’s a bit storage-heavy due to the high-quality assets, but it’s worth the space. For rhythm game enthusiasts, the 'Expert' difficulty provides a genuine challenge that will test your fingers to their limit.

Dinsun Review

I've played my fair share of rhythm games, from DDR to Project DIVA, and this one has some serious style. The art direction is top-notch—very clean, very 'modern anime.' If you follow the Kamitsubaki V-tubers, you already know the music is excellent. The actual gameplay is solid; it doesn't reinvent the wheel, but the lane scaling is a smart way to manage difficulty. My issue is that the 'post-apocalyptic mystery' feels like window dressing. You get snippets of lore, but you're mostly just here for the high-BPM tracks. It’s also quite DLC-heavy; the base game is good, but you'll be eyeing those extra packs pretty quickly if you want the full experience. Still, for a mobile rhythm title, the polish is undeniable.

  • Lane-based gameplay doesn't offer much innovation
