Incredible Potential, but Ultimately Glitchy
Tue Apr 15 2025 pepperonisueI loved every minute of this game. It is filled with mystery and chaos and even once you have finished it and the credits roll, you should play again because I promise there’s more to discover. With that said, it’s got a lot of glitches and lapses in logic within the gameplay. My best example is that you are able to tell one of the teachers about an injury another student has endured that she already knows about and she will run to the nurse as though she’s hearing about it for the first time.
Not what I expected.
Fri Jan 23 2026 lydiiiibuggI bought this game as a bundle with the overboard game and I personally loved overboard! I did not feel as much love for expelled however, because I was not told about the themes in the game until having played it. There is blasphemy in it…according to the game after I had already played two rounds. Obviously, I didn’t get very far lol because I am not very good at games like these, but I will say I would have rather had a warning last time. I am a Christian and I would not have purchased this game if I had known. I adore the art style and the idea that you must convince everyone that you didn’t do it, but I don’t love the blasphemy part. Thanks! (No offense to the creators, it’s just not for me.)
P.s. if I missed anything in the description, which I’m quite sure I didn’t, then I am so sorry! 😊
Mysteries on top of mysteries
Sun Mar 30 2025 nicovalloneWhen you find a strategy to escape blame and perfectly execute your plan make it through the term, it’s so satisfying. But it’s also just the start!
There are so many secrets and hidden facets of the game to be discovered; going about my day I couldn’t stop thinking of loose ends I could pull and things I could do the next time I played.
There are so many ways to play Verity, and your choices really matter! Not just because they affect the way each run goes, but because they change who your Verity actually is, what she wants, and what she’s willing to do.
The way all your choices and rewinds are contextualized in the narrative is brilliant, and the structure of the game keeps prodding you to try different things and discover new interactions.
It takes all the complexity of Overboard! and makes it look like a prototype. I’ve never played anything like Expelled!
Update for ios?
Sat Jul 12 2025 verity12346I see that the game got an update and new endings on May 1 on Steam but there’s no information about when this update will come to iOS. I wish I had known that buying on steam grants new and quicker updates, I feel like I didn’t experience the ending because I chose the wrong platform :( I’ll update my review once the update gets released on ios because overall the game is amazing.
Edit: it’s been more than 2 months and no update for iOS still; I understand if they’re having any technical issues but I wished they communicated upon the release that steam version will get the priority updates and support… I feel cheated out of my time due to a decision to buy it on apple store :(
Not the full game
Sun Dec 21 2025 OogaboogaungabungaIt’s fun and repeatable, but there are some achievements, such as finding out what Nattie is hiding, escaping the owl, and exploring the maze without getting lost that are impossible to complete. I have reset my game and followed a tutorial step by step but it is still impossible to get the correct option for the owl or get the keys from fifi. Please update your mobile version so I can complete all the missions
Good if you liked Overboard
Sun Mar 23 2025 methegrateI bought this on the strength of 80 Days (probably my favorite iPhone game). But personally, I find it dull and repetitive. Very quickly the game becomes just guess-and-check, repeating the same steps but seeing what happens if you change one thing.
If you liked Overboard, you’ll love this. Personally, I did not, and hope they’ll do another 80 Days soon.
An amazing follow up
Sun Mar 30 2025 NathanGaming12Expelled! Is an amazing follow up to overboard from inkle. While there are a few bugs here and there I believe that Expelled! Has proven to be a great installment in the overboard franchise and is full of great twists and turns. And that Belgium girl, that very very untrustworthy Belgium girl.
Bug: certain textures won't load
Thu May 01 2025 [insert clever nickname]I haven't played very much yet, but I almost immediately noticed a bug in the school background where multiple facets which were completely black and had odd pixelly edges that clearly weren't intentional.
I like the first game, and that ran fine on my hardware (I have an old model) so hopefully the issue gets fixed.
