Dictator 2: Evolution in IOS

Dictator 2: Evolution is a fun, dark strategy game that makes you feel the weight of power. The core mechanic of balancing six different factions is simple but requires careful thought because a 'yes' to one group is almost always a 'no' to another. I loved the addition of the card-based military conquest; it adds a nice layer of gameplay beyond just answering questions.

It can feel a bit 'pay-to-win' at times because of the Tyrant currency, but if you're patient, you can still enjoy the political maneuvering. It's a great sequel that expands on the original in every meaningful way.

Dinsun Review

The premise of being a dictator is handled with a card-flipping mechanic that feels more like a game of chance than a true political simulation. It’s essentially 'Reigns' with a more militaristic skin, but it lacks the wit of its contemporaries. You make a choice, one faction likes it, another hates it. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I find the 'evolution' part of the title a bit misleading. The game doesn't really evolve; it just gets more punishing. The strategic layer of conquering other countries is paper-thin and feels like a bolted-on addition to keep the player clicking. It’s fine for a few minutes on a bus, but don't expect a deep dive into political philosophy or complex management.
