Dead Cells is quite simply one of the best action platformers ever made, and the mobile port is nothing short of a miracle. This 'Rogue-lite' experience forces you to embrace death; every time you fall, you lose your current gear but retain the permanent upgrades that slowly turn you into a powerhouse. The 'one more run' feeling is palpable here, driven by some of the most responsive combat controls I've ever used on a touchscreen.
What makes Dead Cells stand out is the sheer variety. There are dozens of weapons—from standard swords and bows to electric whips and freezing grenades—meaning no two runs feel identical. The pixel art is gorgeous, full of moody lighting and fluid animations that make the visceral combat feel even more impactful. It's a difficult game, often punishingly so, but it feels fair. When you finally beat a boss that has killed you a dozen times, the sense of accomplishment is unparalleled. If you own a smartphone and enjoy games at all, this is a mandatory purchase.
