Crookhaven is a charming blend of life-sim and light RPG elements. It feels like a 'cozy crime' novel in game form. You're building up your reputation in a town full of colorful characters, and the balance between performing 'heists' (which are more like fun puzzles) and interacting with the townsfolk is well-struck.

The art style is clean and expressive, and I really enjoyed the writing—it’s witty and doesn't take itself too seriously. It’s not an action-packed game, but it has a steady, engaging pace that makes it perfect for winding down. My only wish is that the world was slightly larger, as you can see most of what Crookhaven has to offer within a few hours, but those hours are very well-spent.
