Criss Cross Castle: Word Quest in IOS

Spell words. Restore the realm

Our Site Score

86/100

Criss Cross Castle is a delight. In a sea of word games that are packed with ads and stressful timers, this feels like a cozy retreat. The 'Word Quest' element gives you a sense of purpose beyond just solving puzzles for the sake of it—watching the castle come back to life is genuinely satisfying.

The art style is whimsical and high-quality, and the word difficulty curve is very fair. It starts easy enough for anyone, but by the third wing of the castle, you’ll definitely be scratching your head. It’s the perfect 'before bed' game. It's rare to find a mobile game this polished that doesn't try to nickel-and-dime you at every turn.

Dinsun Review

I'm 40, I like words, but I don't like being patronized. The 'Castle' part of this is barely there—it’s just a background for more word searches. It’s better than the '101-in-1' app because it actually has a consistent art style, but it’s still very 'safe' and unoriginal. It’s the kind of game that exists to show you an ad every three levels. It’s fine for a few minutes, but it lacks any real hook. I’ve played this game a thousand times under a thousand different names.
