Clash of Blocks is a smart, satisfying logic puzzle that relies on a single clever mechanic: spatial dominance. You place a block on a grid, and it expands to fill the available space. Your goal is to ensure your color covers more of the board than the AI's. It’s like a digital version of the board game 'Go' but simplified for quick mobile sessions.
The minimalist aesthetic is perfect; it keeps your focus on the geometry and the 'flow' of the blocks. The levels get increasingly tricky as they introduce barriers and weirdly shaped grids that force you to think about the expansion paths. It’s a great example of a 'pure' puzzle game—easy to understand in seconds, but challenging enough to keep you thinking for hours.
Dinsun here. This is a quintessential 'commuter game.' The core mechanic is clever—place a block and watch it spread like a virus to claim territory. It requires a decent bit of spatial reasoning, which I respect. It’s easy to pick up but actually forces you to think a couple of steps ahead in later levels.
However, the user experience is frankly exhausting. Every two or three levels, you’re hit with a 30-second ad. For a game where levels take 10 seconds to solve, that’s a terrible ratio. It breaks the flow of the puzzle-solving. If this were a premium title without the ad-bloat, I’d be much more inclined to give it a higher score. As it stands, it’s a good idea hampered by greedy distribution.

Simple and addictive one-tap gameplay
Hundreds of challenging spatial puzzles
Clean, minimalist visual design
No timers—think as long as you need
Don't just aim for the center. Look for narrow 'bottlenecks' in the grid. If you place your block so that it fills a narrow hallway first, you can effectively lock the AI out of a large portion of the board.
In some levels, the order of placement matters. If you wait for the AI to commit to a corner, you can often place your block in a way that 'surrounds' them, capturing more area as your block expands into the remaining space.
All blocks expand at the same speed; the outcome is purely determined by the placement and the shape of the level.
