Afterplace is a triumph of mobile game design. It’s an indie action-adventure that feels massive, yet it’s built to be played comfortably with just one hand. The world is vast, mysterious, and completely open for you to explore at your own pace. There are no waypoints or hand-holding, which makes every secret you find feel like a genuine discovery.
The combat is simple but requires precision, and the boss fights are genuinely challenging. But the real star is the world-building; it’s strange, funny, and occasionally melancholic. The pixel art is beautiful, and the soundtrack perfectly captures the lonely yet whimsical atmosphere. It’s a game that respects the player's intelligence and curiosity. It's easily one of the best adventures on the App Store.
Available on: Mac, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, iPod

An open world adventure game filled with silly characters and terrible secrets.
Afterplace is an adventurous retro game for those who like to get lost. It's a huge open world, full of hidden secrets, treasures, and creatures. You'll run around the woods, fight monsters, and talk to ostensibly shady characters! Be warned though: you never know what the forest might be hiding, and not all trails are paved. Labyrinths and dungeons are tucked away in the most concealed nooks. There are no waypoints in Afterplace. You'll have to forge your own path.
Afterplace works seamlessly with the Siri Remote! Simply hold and drag to move, tap to attack, and use the back button to navigate menus. Switch between the Siri Remote and a gamepad any time you want, the game will adapt with you.
Originally designed for mobile devices, Afterplace strives to bring an experience that feels both small and immense at the same time. The game has simple, fluid controls, allowing you to focus on exploration and discovery. Characters are happy to chat - or you can run right past them! You get to choose what story to explore, if any at all (we are not responsible for the consequences of ignoring the story, whatever they may be).
