70/100

It's a blast from the past seeing Super Monsters Ate My Condo return on Apple Arcade. The core gameplay loop of swiping condos to feed neon-colored kaiju is just as frantic and satisfying as it was a decade ago. The visuals are sharp, the animations are wild, and the music is incredibly catchy. When you hit a flow state, chaining together bronze and silver condos to rack up massive scores, it feels fantastic.

However, it's a bit of a mixed bag due to the restructuring. The removal of the original Endless Mode in favor of a strict 2-minute time limit really hurts the pacing. Just as the tower is getting impossibly tall and the tension peaks, the timer runs out. Also, despite being an Apple Arcade game, it oddly retains some of the grinding mechanics of a free-to-play game regarding coins and boosts. It's still a fun, crazy puzzle game, but it misses some of the magic of the original release.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. I remember when Adult Swim Games was the king of weird mobile titles. Super Monsters Ate My Condo was always the standout. It’s chaotic, loud, and doesn't make a lick of sense—and that’s why it works. Swiping buildings to feed a giant unicorn is just good fun.

It’s a 75 because, while it’s still fun, it hasn't aged perfectly. The 'manic' style can be a bit much for long sessions, and the gameplay hasn't changed at all since the original. It’s a great trip down memory lane, but it might not hold your attention for more than a few days. Still, it’s worth a download for the spectacle alone.

Game Overview

Super Monsters Ate My Condo+ is a visually explosive, chaotic puzzle game that brings the beloved iOS classic back to life via Apple Arcade. Giant, vibrant monsters surround a towering high-rise made of colored condo units. Your job is to swipe condos left or right into the mouths of the matching colored monsters while allowing the tower to drop, matching three or more condos of the same color to clear them. If a monster gets too hungry or you feed them the wrong color, they will attack the tower. It’s a frantic, hilarious test of reflexes and spatial awareness.
