Love/Hate Relationship!
Thu Jul 10 2025 Quesadilla135HexaAway has so much going for it! I enjoy figuring out my strategy, looking for the moves and trying to make no mistakes. Strange as it sounds, I love the sound effects and I particularly love the puzzles with the arrows that exit the hexes in directions sometimes all over the board. HOWEVER, the “love” side is balanced by my dislike of the over abundance of ads. Even if I should choose to pay the exorbitant “no ads” fee, I’m sure ads would still have to be endured if you needed more moves to win your game. Sometimes even if you play the game perfectly there aren’t enough moves given to win and you HAVE to watch a lengthy ad. Not fair in my opinion! But, I’m not quite to the point of deleting the app because of ads; but the day may come. 4 stars for when I’m just having fun “hexing away!”
Dishonest & Deceptive
Tue Feb 25 2025 El paso croneI was really enjoying this game. It’s challenging enough to be interesting, but not something that I have to focus on. So I finally won one of the leagues and continued playing, and I noticed something very interesting. I reached the top slot and took a break to get something to drink and when I came back, there were suddenly two people ahead of me by 120 and 240 points exactly and there was someone behind me with my exact same score. As I continued to play, those three players stayed exactly in the same spots. The two in front were 120 and 240 points ahead and the one behind had my exact same score seconds after I earned it. So I stopped playing for several hours and went back and the same thing happened.
This is now happened three times where I get to the top of the list and I’m 2500 to 3500 points ahead of everybody else on the list and between one game and the next suddenly there’s two players ahead of me and one right behind me with my exact same score. No matter how much I play they stay exactly in the same positions and I’ve got third place.
At this point, it is blatantly obvious that these are not real players, but computer generated players that the system has created to prevent me from winning the league. If you guys are gonna lie to me about what’s going on in the game, the least you can do is not insult my intelligence at the same time!
Bugs with ads which are too long
Wed Aug 13 2025 AUGOLD325I paid for an ad-free experience, but in order to get anywhere in the game, you still have to watch ads for “rewards.” These ads can be 90 seconds long and often require you to close something and then wait another 13 seconds to close something else, then another 5 seconds for the X, which has to be hit precisely at the correct pixel or it will send you to a website outside the game to download something else. I dealt with that for long enough, but lately (even after a “bug fix” update), it doesn’t register that you watched the ad at all and prompts you to watch another ad for the reward you should have already earned.
In addition, some of the levels are unbeatable without either watching an ad or using coins/bombs/hammers. They often repeat levels and try to make it seem different by orienting the level upside down and/or flipping it. Unfortunately they don’t account for any of the spinners’ directions and often you waste extra moves because the spinner doesn’t change its direction to match the orientation of the level.
I won first place in the last 4 “legend leagues,” but have now deleted the game because I’m tired of all the issues.
Inappropriate Ads! Please screen Ads!
Sat Aug 30 2025 2schmitt6The game is great!! Way toooo many LONG Ads!!
But the Ads can be VERY inappropriate too! The Underware Ads have too much “touching” of private parts. And then the AI ad with a sexy woman telling you that she will look ANY way you want. And DO anything you want! There is NO way to block the AI ad. My grandkids play this game. I don’t want to see this ad, much less allow my grandkids!! Take this Ad OFF!! Your game says 12+ to play. Well think of what type of ADs you are showing!!Screen the Ads that are paying you for their time! Otherwise, I will have to delete the game. Which would be sad since I love the game. It is relaxing and just challenging enough.
We even payed for NO ADS and can’t complete the puzzles without watching an Ad! Plus the spinner hardly ever lands on a bomb or hammer! Almost always lands on the $400! Very annoying! Please delete the AI ads!! I can’t believe you all don’t know what type of AD it is!
We paid for NO ADs. I think we are going to delete the game. We will be avoiding this company’s future games. The MOLECO AI ads have women talking about how you can have sex with anyone (even a co-worker) with just a touch of a button!! Kids play his game!!!! OMG! Screen your ads!!!
All LOUD long form ads!!! A game for children, very small children who aren’t very bright.
Sat May 03 2025 JshnwkwkebrbbeThe game takes seconds to complete, then the price of the next simplistic game is one minutes of very loud advertising of bad games. One can’t listed to music or a book, as this will blast your eardrums out and run over the sounds running. One can’t play in a waiting room, as if one forgets to put their phone volume down the LOUD ads will be obnoxious. The game isn’t at all calming or relaxing, as play as interrupted with very LOUD ADS.
The game is already supported by advertising on the screen of the actual game, but ads take up the majority of game time. As I said, a 10 second game or more advanced 30 second game costs one a minute of an ad one has 20 times prior to that. A poorly developed game that didn’t entice me the first five times just makes me rage at it the next five. So now I download them and give them all bad reviews. The motion doesn’t work, their systems don’t work, overall play is bad… So they deserve a negative review. Just as this game deserves a negative review, as it isn’t game, it is all Ads.
And I’m not paying $10 a month for the ad free version when the actual game is at a preschool level.
Ads are off the charts!!
Sun May 04 2025 WanniMacI have been playing for a little over a week, and I love the game, but those ads are so time consuming. If you want to get double your award for ten minutes, watch these 2 minute ads, then get your 10 minutes. Catch here is, if you don’t finish the puzzle with the allotted moves and need more so you choose to watch an ad for 5 moves. That ad is always over 1.5 minutes long. So I have yet to get through 3 levels with that 10 minutes bonus! Just two days ago, I decided to purchase the No Ads. It doesn’t help at all. It took away ads and you choose if you want to use ads to get more rewards or bonuses, but what they have done is made those ads double what they were. I made it to level 670 in this very short time of playing, and I am saying goodbye. When you are stuck watching ads that are long enough to go to the bathroom, get a snack and check laundry all before the ads are over, that’s too much time to be wasting on a game. You have a good game here, get rid of those ads!!!
How ‘bout those ads, y’all?
Sat Jul 13 2024 Sparkle-womanThis game wins the prize for the least amount of time residing on my phone. Between levels 1 and 14, there were four, count ‘em, four ads. Given that most of the levels last ten seconds or less, I spent more time watching ads and waiting for the double arrow and x to appear than I did actually playing the game. Too bad because it’s a great idea, a different take on the Hexa-flip type puzzles which I recently discovered. The top of each stack is labeled with an arrow, which means that stack can only leave the board in that direction when all other obstacles—the other stacks in that row— are removed. Very cool, and I imagine if you want to pay to have ads removed (I don’t), it’s definitely addictive. It’s difficult to get addicted when your attention is diverted every 30 seconds or less.
I’ve played tons of ad-supported games, and still play most of them, because the ads aren’t obnoxious in quantity and are easily and quickly dismissed. I’ve also deleted tons of games for being the opposite, this one among them.
Typical But Disappointing
Tue Sep 02 2025 Hi135790My first impression was positive, I downloaded the app less than an hour ago and got through 10 levels before an ad popped up. I was happily surprised that the game wasn’t horrifically riddled with ads. I was immediately proven wrong. After the first ten levels it tried giving me an ad after every level! They obviously don’t allow airplane mode because they want you to pay to get rid of the ads. They also try to convince you to watch even more ads for unneeded bonuses! You want me to pay real money for this low effort game???
Pro tip- I noticed when you open the game it lets you play 2 games before an ad pops up. So I’ve been closing it after every two games to make it slightly more manageable. So far, the game has been ridiculously easy, it takes me only about 8-15 seconds to complete each level (even the “very hard mode” lol). Hopefully it gets harder the further you level up but I won’t find out since I am deleting the app due to the ads. Would have been a super fun mindless game otherwise.
Enjoy this game until….
Mon Feb 17 2025 Lizette76I’m at the level where the only solution is use a hammer or bomb to be successful. Exceptionally annoying is having paid the $10 for NO ADS only to watch numerous ads out of necessity to solve because tiles are pointed at each other. During a recent tournament I was in first place, however the results stated I placed 12th, and awarded a random number of 536 points???
In order to make progress I had to watch an ad every 10 minutes to earn double points. Challenge 11 was memorable because it was entirely made of rotating tiles that all of them pointed inward. To solve it required watching consecutive ads to obtain bombs and hammers.
I’m relatively intelligent with an IQ of three digits, and have no intention to spend free time during my retirement playing a game designed to frustrate the players. Either the puzzle is boringly simple or completely unsolvable without watching mind numbing ads. This app is being deleted.
Geometrically incorrect
Fri May 02 2025 Just_Jack_AtlHexagons have a total of 720°, and in this case 120° per angle. For a hexagon to slide past another hexagon it would need to move exactly perpendicular to the adjacent hexagon, or 90°. The arrow on each hexagon is wrong (sometimes or doesn’t matter if there are no other hexagons near it). The arrow needs to point to a point on the hexagon, or 30° different from what is shown.
To see this look at the game logo (the picture on the AppStore). The bottom yellow hexagon can not freely slide past the green hexagon if it travels in the direction of the arrow. It would push on the green hexagon and be prevented assuming that there is friction. If the arrow were drawn 30° more clockwise on the yellow (towards the point), then traveling in that direction is uninhibited.
This game won’t be more or less difficult by picturing the arrows correctly, but it won’t seem like it was written by a high school drop out that makes a game that is all about motion and direction and puts the arrows on the hexagons incorrectly.
