Sonic Racing is a solid, colorful kart racer that does a great job bringing the 'Team' mechanic to mobile. The visuals are bright and run smoothly, even during intense multiplayer matches. While it might not have the complexity of Mario Kart, the team-sharing aspect adds a layer of strategy that you don't often see in the genre.
I really enjoyed the character variety—playing as a 'Power' type like Knuckles feels noticeably different from a 'Speed' type like Sonic. The multiplayer is the heart of the game, and finding a good team makes the experience significantly more fun. It’s a great pick for quick sessions or competing with friends online.
Dinsun's take: It’s Sonic, so you know exactly what you’re getting. It’s fast, it’s loud, and it’s colorful. But compared to Team Sonic Racing on consoles, this feels stripped down. The controls are simplified for mobile—which I understand—but it takes some of the skill out of it.
It’s fine for a quick race, but it feels a bit hollow. The 'team' mechanics are there, but they don't feel as essential as they should. It’s a decent distraction for fans of the hedgehog, but if you want a real racing challenge, you won't find it here. It’s kart racing by the numbers.
Performance: Runs well; online matchmaking is generally quick but can be laggy.
Buy if: You are a Sonic fan or have kids who want an easy racing game.
Skip if: You expect a deep, skill-based racing simulation.
Available on: Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, iPod

Wisps act as your primary offensive and defensive tools. Collect them from boxes on the track to launch rockets, drop oil slicks, or gain a burst of speed. Timing your Team Overdrive is key to turning the tide in the final lap.
