Look, I have been playing games since the text-adventure days of the 80s, so I can appreciate a deeply written interactive narrative. The Choice of Games app offers an impressive, sprawling library of text novels with genuinely branching choice mechanics. The writing quality across the catalog is surprisingly consistent, and the flexibility to shape your character's personality and romance preferences is remarkably robust. It scratches an old-school roleplaying itch that modern cinematic games rarely touch.

However, let's call a spade a spade: this is an app for reading books with variables, not a modern video game. There are absolutely zero graphics, no soundtracks, and no sound effects. Charging premium prices for individual text modules inside a single hub wrapper feels increasingly archaic in today's landscape. While the interactive mechanics are solid, the lack of minimal background ambiance or presentation means it struggles to justify itself as an active gaming experience rather than a digital novel collection.
